The actual main problem with renting………
When I was Seven years old, my buddy, a lad called Tim, was presented with a brand new Raleigh Grifter, not for his bday or Xmas, simply because he wanted one. He had the bicycle of my desires.

A couple of weeks later upon a balmy summer’s afternoon, with eyes like saucers I nervously greeted young Tim and requested him if I might have a ride on it. He thought about my question for what seemed like an age, then shook his head slowly and screwed up his face. Absolutely no possibility, he explained.

thirty-two years on, I met Tim once again at his Riverside home in a smart neighborhood of Hull’s old town. Over 6 months his house had been developed from chic and stylish to dustbin. His renters had definitely known how to celebrate, but not how to thoroughly clean or pay rent payments. The consequence was a £450 cleanup bill, a touch more for redecoration and £1700 rent payments arrears.

Regrettably, Tim hadn’t asked for any kind of references simply because one of the renters was the close friend of a pal. It transpired that he had handed over the keys without any official tenancy contract and without the most fundamental of inspections. It stunned me that someone who was capable of making a mindful risk evaluation at the age of seven, was not able of the same thing aged thirty-nine.

The message here is not to take a chance with someone who wishes to rent your property. Your home is probably your most important asset, so it is important that every feasible step is taken to check the quality of potential renters prior to you commit to them. Don’t be frightened to say absolutely no - if you can’t be certain then don’t take the chance.
